Nindo – Kook ‘t [Dutch music video]

All artists and affiliates of Dutch label Nindo teamed up to create this streetbanger called ‘Kook ‘t’ (translation: cook it). Since Bokoesam’s 101Barz session, where ‘team Nindo’ first performed this Hyplified produced song, fans have been anxious to hear the song in full.

As if a free download wasn’t enough, Nindo decided to give the fans something extra. Nindo surprisingly shot a music video for the song, which features live performance shots taken at ‘Keizer: Karma in concert’.

What do you get when you bring two artists, of different genres, together in the studio with the assignment to compose a new song within 36 hours? Dutch mc Yes-R and famous Dutch singer and judge in the tv-show “The Voice of Holland” Angela Groothuizen, embraced the assignment and brought their best teams with them to make it work. Angela Groothuizen brought her long time partner in crime Nico Brandsen along, while Yes-R was accompanied by Hyplified and songwriter/guitarist Leon Palmen. Dutch mc Yes-R has just released the music video for his latest single, “Als er geen morgen was” (translated: if there was no tomorrow). Besides being the first single of his upcoming album “Fashion”, the single is also the soundtrack to the Dutch horror/comedy movie “Zombibi”. “Als er geen morgen was” is produced and co-written by Hyplified.

In the music video you will see Yes-R rapping and singing about all the things he would do if there was no tomorrow. His advice to the world: live your day like it’s your last and make the most out of it. You’ll never know if you will wake up between zombies tomorrow.

Zombibi will be in theaters across Holland on February 16th.

Songwriting tip: Know your audience

Too often I see artists losing focus of their audience. That is why I want to give this quick tip to upcoming artists: know your audience. If your audience’s average age lies around 12-15 years, please keep that in mind when writing your next lyric. You might want to reconsider cursing and “bedroom” topics. On the opposite, if you are trying to reach out to fans aged 20 and older, make sure to use a more mature writing style than you would for an audience of teenagers. Find out what keeps your audience busy and try to use that information in your creation process.
