How did you become a professional producer/singer/songwriter?

I started out as a songwriter writing my first song when I was 12. At that time I was also singing melodies and that slowly evolved in me wanting beats that would fit my songs. However, no one was really interested in helping me with that so I decided to teach myself how to do it. A friend of mine introduced me to a program called Renoise and I bought my first piano. After sitting behind the piano every day making music, I decided this is what I want to do for a living. I then met Deazy through a friend and saw that we both had the same ambitions, so we started collaborating together and eventually started our production team Hyplified, together with Deazy’s talented cousin Qino. A few months after I met Shaneaux. After making a few songs with him, I saw that he was an amazing talent that would complete the team, so I introduced him to the boys. Since that day Hyplified was complete.

Did you study to become a producer/songwriter?

I started studying at the school of hard knocks, I always studied music learning from other people, exploring the internet and by reading books about production.
After a while I felt that if wanted to become a full fledged producer I needed to learn how to communicate with other musicians, so I did a course in music production.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

Continuing evolving my skills as a songwriter and a producer. Creating and developing a body of work with different artist appealing to the masses. And last but not least, getting in the international marketplace; it’s time to go global.

Is there a standard work method you use when creating a song?

No, making a song is a creative process. Anything can trigger inspiration. I can wake up with a melody one day, or just put down a sentence. Eventually it becomes a song.

Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard. Think, plan and execute.
